New hips; old body

Some of you know my story (it is archived here) as I am 6 years (left) and 1 year (right) post THR.  I would tell you my post-op experience and new running life has gone exceptionally well.  This includes new perspectives: maybe more Boston marathons, 80-mile weeks, and weekly track sessions but instead Pilates classes, easier trail/grass runs, and trying to get under 20 minutes for 5K… you get the picture….

What we can’t forget about is that despite new hardware, it’s older bones, older joints, stiffer and weakening muscles, decreasing testosterone, and more recovery time needed.  Don’t neglect the mindset required to age and train gracefully… keep health, longevity, and strength at the forefront of your approach post-THR 👍🏼
