HI, Hope, Everybody is recovering well from operation. For me, 5 months has gone from operation. I feel my component is really amalgamated to my body. Anyway, I participated duathlon last weekend. (5k road run, 20k bic, 2.5k cross country). I must say I was exhausted , when I finished it. I said myself somebody will 1st , somebody will the last. Even I will be the last , If I can finish it, That will be great. Result was my age group, I was the 2nd, I could not be able to believe it. But, It happened. last cross country run, I over took at least 4 runners! I never ever thought after hip operation , such a thing will happen to me. Sure, other members who had THR , same thing will happen . ( please, do not push too much) I have some photos. I enclose them. someone thinking future races, Good luck! Your will take you to the finishing line.

Congratulations on surpassing your expectations!!! You looked very strong!
Hi, Lenore
Thanks your comment. I was worried this race, if I can make it. There were about 200 athlete. All mixed both sex and ages. 3/4 were men, 1/4 were women. previous night, I could not fall asleep , But, I like any thing challenge, only once in my life! I did it. Once, fired the gun, You only have to go forward, I forgot everything, I said to my self ” get on and do it!” that was that. Anyway, Hope, You are recovering well day by day and enjoying your life. Get in touch!

HI, Tom
Thanks your comment. I was some parts of this race , struggling. But, luckily, photographers missed struggling shots! I had experience, sometime ago, my face was nearly cry! I hated it. since I saw such a photo , I decided to show smile , happy faces , wherever I run. And these days, after having THR, participating any races, for me , that is treasure moment! I can not tell you enough, I feel how lucky I am! How happy I am! This feeling coming from my mind. I always say thank you for my surgeon and hip runner’s club Tom , you set up this site. Without others help , I could not go back my activity life that I always enjoyed it. I must say This club is more than treasure box. there are lots of wisdom encouragement and compassion etc in it. Thanks Tom. We still have to go many years, Hope, All of Us could enjoy our life.

Hi, Margaret
Thank you for your comment. I had knee operation 2010 as well as my hip 2013. seems knee braces reduces impact 30% to 40% . I do not want to injure again. I am very careful. I do half marathon with knee braces . Hope, you are recovering well. Get in touch! let us know how you are.
