KeymasterSorry for the slow reply Sean. It took me around 18 months until I started feeling normal (ish). The key is to listen to your hip and let it dictate when to go and when to back off. You are doing the right thing by giving it rest. I had my hip replaced in January 2012, and In do occasionally have those days where my hip doesn’t want to go. Keep your head up 🙂

ParticipantHi Seanm
I’m also sorry for this late reply. Perhaps you have weak gluteus medius and/or minimus? It’s not uncommon for this to last 9 months, or more. I’m dealing with it now, and am doing lots of exercises (clam shells, bird dogs, abductor leg lifts, and will soon start lunges, deadlifts, and the like. I hope it’s better, but if not, look into muscle weakness or imbalance. Cheers, Gary
