Hi Everyone. I had a THR left hip in May 2024. It’s now almost September. I’m almost 72 and have run 50 marathons. I hobbled through some runs last winter before surgery. Bone on bone arthritis. Right now (almost 4 months) post surgery I’m walking 3-4 miles and biking between 15-20 miles – so keeping pretty fit. If I need to jog a few steps in a crosswalk due to oncoming traffic, it hurts mid-thigh. I assume that’s from the sharp end on the implant?
I’m not planning to jog for a minute on grass until November (6 months) to see if it is pain free. I’d really love to be able to run 5-10 miles again. And advice would be appreciated. Best luck to you all. I live in Minneapolis and hope for a relative snow-free winter like last year. Lol. No offense to you skiers.
