Hello,
I appreciate all of the good information on this site. It is encouraging to know that so many people have been successful in their attempts to return to running after hip replacement. I am sure I share the same sentiment with many that there is nothing quite like the feeling you get from running. I was interested to read that Frederick’s surgeon mandated no running for 9 months after his surgery. I had my right hip replaced January 11, 2022 by posterior approach and have had a good recovery. I can swim 1.5 miles, ride a bike for 1.5 hours, walk 4 miles and use an elliptical for an hour with little to no pain. My surgeon was fairly vague about when and if to ever run again. I would be most curious about when other people began running after their surgery and how it went. I am 63 year old man and was in good shape before surgery, having run a marathon a little over a year before.
Thank you for any experiences you all can share and best of luck to everyone with their running!
Lee D.
