Doctor’s visit???

I went in for my 18 month check up today. Everything was great!! I am seeing a Chiropractor as I seem to have more back issues. That is fine. I told the doctor about my jogging that I am doing usually every other day. He said that as I am 57 years old I will probably be looking at getting another replacement? The replacement he said will happen so much quicker if  I continue to jog?? I was very disappointed by this news. This is my sanity . I have been so much happier since I have returned to running again. Any suggestions or advice????… (Click Here to View Full Post and Comments)

Well I think I am finally on this site!!! It has been almost 2 years since I had the new hip. My running has not gone as well as I would have liked??  I do not seem to be able to go as long as I used to. I was always a long distance jogger. I am happy to be back out there. This site definitely made me overcome my fear of getting back to running. I find that the hip is good but I seem to have alot of lower back pain going into my leg?? Any ideas?? Thanks Tom for helping me back onto this site.… (Click Here to View Full Post and Comments)

Paula W – Getting there

I had my first long run into the country and completed 4 major hills. I must say it is alot harder then before but I did it. Just a little pain in the left foot and left lower back at the end. I think I am finally over the fear. I was so afraid to run with this new hip. Thanks to everyone.  Hearing the stories made me more confident to keep plugging away. Like I heard before to go run every day is not going to happen but every other is good. I am also doing some work for a landscaping company and I am doing great. This has helped me move better with my running. Thanks again everyone!!!!!!… (Click Here to View Full Post and Comments)

Paula W – Thank god I found this great site!!!!

Thank you so much Tom for getting me in here as a member. This totally made my day!! I had a hip replacement exactly one year ago. I had always been a runner before my surgery . My surgeon told me that I would have to take up walking and biking. Death sentence to me!! I have put on 35 lbs in one year and was ready to give up. I had tried jogging and the pain I felt in my groin area was enough to put my outings to a hault! After reading other peoples success stories I became totally motivated! I went out this morning and jogged and walked for almost an hour. This was the furthest I have ever gone!! I am determined to overcome this groin pain. I even went out and bought new shoes! Has anyone experienced such pain. I have been very stiff over the past year. I am really warming up now and stretching at the end too.   Sometimes I think my body is craving to run again. I felt much loser and stronger today.

Thanks to Tom and everyone who posted such great success stories!! I am happy and proud to be a member of this site.

Looking forward to making this all happen.
