Bobbie

Have been running for the past 5 or so years and have such a love for it. October 20,2013 was in my first half marathon. It was a beautiful fall day and I went into the race excited and confident. Well apparently I had developed a stress fracture at the neck of my femur and didn’t realize it. I had some discomfort the week prior, but never thought to serious about it. The day of the race, each mile I continued to run, the pain increased and was sharper and sharper. By Mile 6 I was in an unbelievable amount of pain, but was determined to finish the race. And this point, I’m thinking it’s a muscle tare. I continue to push through the pain, and then finally my hip snapped, completely broke in 2 and I fall to the ground and can’t stand up. Ambulance comes, I’m rushed to Boston for emergency surgery that night…… Now a couple months later, I’m off crutches now, still limping and am in pain still. I have 3 cannilated screws.
now wondering where to go from here?…. The goal is to run again, but now listen to my body and train differently…… But am getting very impatient with the constant discomfort, and people daily telling me I’m limping!… (Click Here to View Full Post and Comments)
