Thank you for accepting me to this site. I’m a 64 year old retired family GP from Kent in England. I have always loved running, but had to stop about 18 years ago due to unresolving left knee problems. My brother introduced our family to parkrun ( a regular free to enter 5km run/walk at over 500 sites in the UK, and about 460 elsewhere in the world. ) My wife & daughter started doing them regularly, and I used to go along to support. My symptoms rapidly deteriorated, with nights increasingly becoming a nightmare having to get up several times each night and only getting 2-4 hours sleep maximum. At times I would get severe spasms of pain, unresponsive to paracetamol & NSAIs. Looking back I’m surprised how severe my pain was at times.
I had a posterior uncemented LTHR on 17/4. Immediately the pre op arthritic pains went, and I have now had no analgesics for 48 hours. I’m walking with 2 sticks ( but only as my wife says … (Click Here to View Full Post and Comments)
