I have been running since I was 18. Absolutely devastated to have my hip replaced on 3 March 2016. I ran mainly 1/2 marathons and 10k, with 6 marathons under my belt. My surgeon told me I could never run again. I have a cemented hip replacement which I believe isn't as strong as an in-cemented one, so obvious I am very concerned of damaging my hip.I ensured I did all my strengthening exercises, walked everywhere I could and bought a cross trainer at 6 months. I joined a gym with the aim at 1 year I would run on a treadmill. I am now up to 15 mins, hip aches but I guess this is normal. My aim is to start running trail runs up to 10k as it will have less impact. Are there any other hip runners with cemented hip replacement out there and how far are you running and how often.
