Female runner/mountain biker/ inline skater. THR due to childhood injury. I never had any problems with my joints. I ran 35 to 40 miles a week for 32 years. I mountain biked and road biked as much as I liked. I inline skate. Did inline skate races etc. As I said, no problems, then in August 2015, I was biking on bike path, hit rut, fell, left thigh landed on small rock. The landing moved joint I guess. I couldn't walk without limp after fall. Pain never got much better. I struggled with pain and limping for 6 months. I finally saw ortho. He told me it was a childhood injury that finally caught up to me. I had my surgery Jan2016, everything has been great. I started biking,elipital machine, etc. from day one. My surgeon wanted me to wait 4 months before starting to run again. I'm running two or three times a week now. My longest run so far 5 miles. I can't tell any difference in the THR than I could with my own hip, just as natural as always. I thank God and my great surgeon for giving me my life back. I'm also thankful for this blog, it has been very encouraging to read about all these great runners
