After two years of pain I'm SO looking forward to my THR surgery, scheduled for next month. I've been running for 15 years or so (this time round, also ran as a youngster) and loved the marathon distance above all others. Haven't been able to run much at all since September 2014 although have managed a few 10ks this year (very slow - every step uncomfortable) Now have bone on bone with cysts and oseophytes all over the place (only in one hip - the other one only has normal wear and tear). Fortunately my surgeon is a runner and someone I know through my running club so hasn't said no running! He has said no road races which is a shame but I can live with taking to the trails instead. I've seen lots of good and inspirational stories on here already and look forward to reading more.
