Started running in in late 70" and always active. Participated in numerous "fun runs" over the years and some amateur competition. Also did many Triathlons until some aggravated calf injuries forced me to back off in early 2000's. Right hip pain worsened in early 2016-2017. Some physical therapy helped but worsening pain prompted the decision to have surgery. BEST thing I ever did! Was walking very quickly (albeit slowly) within the first day and after 3 years have no pain at all. I have embarked on specific core and strength training along with a complete transition in my running form. Have decided to start running again but lots smarter with my training than I was when younger! I do Elliptigo cross training and incorporate slow jogging for aerobic endurance. I just retired so now incorporating some work out every day mixed with periodic "rest days".
